A 45 year old man comes to your office for a complete check up

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1.) What further history should now be pursued?

Further history to be pursued:

  1. Exposures: smoking, exposure to industrial compounds, exposure to tuberculosis or other infectious diseases

  2. Any prior chest X-ray

  3. Pre-existing lung disease

  4. Prior history of neoplasm at any site

  5. Respiratory symptoms: cough, hemoptysis, sputum production, dyspnea

  6. Systemic symptoms: fever, weight loss, anorexia

  7. Any family history of lung cancer
