UROLOGY
Case #1 -
A 32 year old with severe right sided abdominal pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
11.) What is the likelihood of recurrence of the problem?

There is a 50% recurrence rate after the first episode of a stone. There is a higher rate of recurrence if there is prior history of stone disease; a family history of stone disease; presence of chronic urinary tract infection, gout, bone disease, or inflammatory bowel disease; or nephrocalcinosis.
