Bio:  
Mary Fabien joined UW TechTransfer in 2000. She works with UW researchers to facilitate the distribution and adoption of software, digital media, information products, electronic data, and other digital innovations, as an extension of the researchers’ teaching, research, and service programs.  Ms. Fabien has over twenty-five years of experience in business & technology development in academia, government, and industry.  She has been an active technology transfer practitioner since 1992, facilitating the transfer of publicly funded technologies into useful applications in the private sector as Director of Programs administered by the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, the Washington State Department of Community Trade & Economic Development, and the Ohio Department of Development.  Prior to working in technology transfer, Ms. Fabien held senior systems engineering and technical program management roles in industry, including the research & development of Stirling cycle refrigeration systems at Sunpower Incorporated, new product development of mail handling & processing systems at Pitney Bowes Corporation, and the design and development of submarine strategic weapons support systems at General Dynamics Corporation.  Ms. Fabien is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLPTM), and holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Franklin & Marshall College.
