Bio:  
Dr. Williams was a member of the University of Washington’s Office of Technology Transfer conducting patenting, marketing and licensing tasks from 1992-1995 while attending law school. He practiced environmental and sports entertainment law from 1995-1998 while completing his Ph.D. and returned to the field of technology transfer in 1998.   Dr. Williams helped initiate UW’s biological research tools licensing program (software, databases, survey instruments, and digital multimedia) as a means to validate, create distribution channels, and accelerate the adoption of  innovative UW work. He currently teaches in the IP Management Certificate Program and continues to develop new technology transfer methods focusing on the development of industry relationships, including technology access programs and the formation of research commons.
