FAQs
Incoming MTAs often require an authorized signature from the UW as well as a signature from the UW Investigator receiving the material indicating that the Principal Investigator has read and understood the terms of the Agreement. UW TechTransfer has signature authority for these types of Agreements. If you are a UW Researcher and have an Incoming MTA which needs a signature, please fill out the MTA Questionnaire (PDF / Word ) and submit it to the Agreements Group along with your MTA. The Agreements Group will review Agreements in the order in which they are received.
The terms of the Agreement may need to be negotiated in order to comply with UW policy, funding obligations or State and Federal law. The Agreements Group will contact the UW Researcher once the Agreement is received and provide an estimated turnaround time. The Agreements Group may also contact the UW Researcher to request any additional information that might be needed to process the Agreement.
The Agreements Group will only review Agreements from UW investigators that include a description of the requested materials and of the proposed use of the requested materials.
UW Researchers may submit Agreements to UW TechTransfer by E-mail to mta-group@u.washington.edu or by sending it via UW campus mail to box 354990.
