Notice to Researchers

The University of Washington (UW) has signed a license with Vical Incorporated to receive the right to practice patented technology which relates to the delivery of polynucleotides to vertebrates. The license is for educational and internal research purposes only. Under this license, UW has assumed the following obligations, with which you must comply if you use this technology:

  • The technology (including any materials developed through its use – “Materials”) must be used only within UW and only by individuals (faculty, students, employees) who are obligated to assign inventions to UW.
  • While you may provide the Materials to third parties, you should do so only after notifying UW TechTransfer at 543-3970 so it can notify Vical of the transfer.
  • If an invention or Material is created through the use of the technology, you must notify TechTransfer in order for Vical to be notified and to decide whether to exercise its option to negotiate a commercial license.
