Our licensing practice meets the needs of UW researchers and is consistent with UW policies and policies from funding agencies, such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. UW software, content and digital materials are licensed under specific terms. Please review the licensing terms carefully and contact us at ventures@u.washington.edu if you have any questions.

Ready to Sign Licenses
Our Express Licensing program provides pre-defined terms and conditions and are “ready-to-sign” by licensees. Modifications to these express licenses are considered in a case-by-case situation, and may incur higher cost for licensees. Please contact us at ventures@u.washington.edu to discuss any modifications.
UW OpenDOOR Program
UW TechTransfer operates a portal called UW OpenDOOR (Directory of Open Resources) that contains many no-cost software and digital materials to all users. UW researchers can list their digital tools here for distribution. See what’s available at UW OpenDOOR.
