Outgoing MTAs (Not for Profit)

Anytime a UW researcher plans to send materials to a researcher outside of the UW (either not-for-profit organization or industry), an MTA (see template below) must be in place to transfer the materials. UW is a signatory to the Uniform Biological Materials Transfer Agreement (UBMTA), and uses the UBMTA Implementing Letter (see template below) to transfer materials to other UBMTA signatories.

To determine if the party wishing to receive UW materials is also a signatory to the UBMTA, review the signatories list posted on the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) website. If the receiving party is not a signatory to the UBMTA, then UW uses its standard outgoing MTA template.

Read this section before downloading one of the standard MTA templates listed at the bottom of this page. For certain UW labs which receive a large number of requests for materials, the Agreements Group uses specifically drafted MTA templates. Parties outside UW wishing to obtain UW research materials, and who know the name of the UW lab, may use the list below to determine whether a lab specific MTA template is available for that particular lab.

Please note: Any modifications made to the MTA templates provided below must be approved by the Agreements Group.

 Material-specific MTA templates:

  • Kavanagh Lab: Anti-GCL Antisera ( Word )
  • Rudensky Lab: FOXP3 Mice ( Word )

  • Werner Syndrome Registry (Word )
  • Wilson Lab: Reagent & Transgenic Mice (Word )
  • Lernmark Lab: GAD - pThGAD65 (Word )
  • Rudensky Lab: FOXP3-DTR mice(Word )
