Partially Pre-Negotiated MTA

UW TechTransfer has worked with Seattle-area biotechnology companies to enhance the transfer of company-developed research materials to the University. UW TechTransfer is pleased to develop innovative approaches to work effectively with the local biotech community. The partially pre-negotiated agreement was developed collaboratively with several of the local biotechnology companies and the Industrial Advisory Board of the School of Medicine.

This partially pre-negotiated agreement is an attempt to streamline negotiations between the University and the local biotech companies. The agreement is an excellent starting point, but there are still issues which will need to be addressed with each transfer. Each situation is unique and issues such as existing intellectual property, scope of work, and funding as well as the value of the material to the company will need to be addressed.
