If you are a UW researcher/employee and you would like to report an innovation to our office, please follow one of the steps below based on the nature of your discovery:

  • For new medical and engineering devices, methods or materials, complete and submit a Record of Invention (ROI) form. (Clicking this link will open a new window where you will be required to log in with your UWNetID).

    • You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of receipt of your completed ROI and within two weeks the technology manager assigned to your ROI will contact you. If you submitted an ROI and you do not hear from us within the above timeframe please contact our office at (206) 543-3970.
  • For new software, databases, web applications and other digital tools submit a consultation request or contact UW TechTransfer (206) 616-3451 to talk to a software technology manager directly.
