moments of revelation in O'Connor's A
Good Man Is Hard To Find and Guare's
"Six Degrees of Separation." Written March,
1996 for a contemporary American literature course.

in Freud's Evolving "Civilization"
provides an explication of how the growing
individual finds his place in Freud's
concept of civilization. Written May, 1996 for an English
senior seminar, "Reading Freud."

Modern Herbalism is an
exercise in expository form. Written June, 1996 for an
expository writing course.
Education Related
- Power and Control:
Re-examining the Collaborative Approach to Student
Learning asserts
that if the classroom is to reflect the American belief
that "all men are created equal," a
transformation of the classroom must occur wherein
classroom dialog reflects a more equal relationship
between teacher and student, leading to a more democratic
and emancipatory education. Written May, 1997 for a
teacher education course, "Topics and
Tensions."
- Computers
in the Secondary English Classroom - Six Practical
Student Activities
gives an overview of the current status of
technology in the secondary classroom and provides six
writing activities for a technology-rich classroom
setting. Written March, 1996 for a course on the writing
process.
- I
Was Born into the Winning Team reflects on what it means to
be in born into the culture of power, and calls for
attention to efforts to provide a multicultural
education. Written January, 1997 for a multicultural
