HUB Administration is one of several units within the HUB department.
The HUB is the student union for the University of Washington campus and is an access point to the UW for those who are enrolled, employed, or enjoying a visit. The HUB provides space, services, and programs making it an environment rich in interactions and community engagement. The HUB is a departmental unit within the Division of Student Life under the leadership of Vice President for Student Life, Dr. Denzil J. Suite.
The HUB is short for the Husky Union Building, a name that was officially adopted by our department in 2012. Formerly the department name was Student Activities and Union Facilities or SAUF for short. Please note that we no longer use SAUF in any official capacity. We kindly ask that any campus reference to SAUF be updated to reflect our new departmental name – The HUB.

L. Lincoln Johnson has had the great fortune to be the Director of the Husky Union Building (The HUB) since 1996. In 2009, he was asked to serve as the Associate Vice President for Student Life. In addition to the HUB, his portfolio includes Commencement, Recreational Sports, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Publications, Student Legal Services, and the Q Center. Prior to his arrival in Seattle, he served at Louisiana College, Baylor University, and Mississippi State University. He received his undergraduate degree (Music Education) and graduate degree (Higher Education) from Baylor University…sic ‘em Bears!!
Lincoln has volunteered regionally and internationally with ACUI for 20 years where he served as Region 14 Director (1997-2000), Board of Trustees (2000-02) and ACUI President (2007-08). In some circles, students refer to him as Miss Manners due to his ever-vigilant education of professional dining etiquette for students. During those rare times that he gets to leave campus, Lincoln sings with Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble and volunteers with Teen Feed.

Paul Zuchowski has worked in the Husky Union Building since August of 1984. During his time in the HUB he has acted as a steward of the building working, with the operations and retail staff, to provide the infrastructure and support for the many programs, services, and amenities offered. He was fortunate to participate in the first major remodel of the HUB since 1975 and to help realize the goals of the HUB Building Committee.
Prior to his move to Seattle Paul worked in the Memorial Union at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While working on his undergraduate degree (Secondary Education: Communication Arts) he was elected President of the student government (1974-75) and later President of the Wisconsin Union Directorate and Council (1976-77). He holds a graduate degree in Educational Policy Studies.
