Working with Images
This section provides information and links to tutorials that show you how to select and use a digital camera, transfer images to your computer, edit images, and save them for the web.
Using Images You Did Not Create:
TRIO Quest Fair Use Rules apply to the PhotoEssay, Media Quest, and TRIO ThinkQuest.
Under fair use, students do not need to get permission to use copyrighted images that they find on the web, as long as:
- no more than five images from one artist or photographer are used.
- no more than 10% or 15 images, whichever is less, are used from a collection.
- for each image, students provide a citation with a link to the image source.
NOTE: In the Oracle ThinkQuest International Competition, students may not use ANY copyrighted images without permission.
