MediaQuest Student Guide

Purpose:
The sole purpose of Media Quest, for either video or audio, is to encourage creativity.  Show the TRIO community and the world your many talents, whether it be reading your poetry, filming still-shots of your art, presenting a community service announcement, or creating a movie. The key word is CREATE.

Take Responsibility:
Of course, you must take responsibility for your creations; after all, you are representing your program within the TRIO community. Any submission that is deemed inappropriate for an educational program (vulgarity, cursing, etc.) will not be judged.
In addition, you must be intellectually honest. Any submission that does not cite the work of others or does not follow Fair Use Rules will not be judged. The best way to avoid plagiarism is to submit original work.

Have fun:
Being creative is having fun. Enjoy showing-off your talents. Let the world see you shine.

Rules to Remember:

  • 3 minutes or less – any submission longer than 3 minutes will not be judged
  • Format – Only Windows Media, QuickTime, Flash, and MP3 are accepted
  • All submissions must be uploaded through www.etrio.org

Categories:

  • Public Service Announcement
  • Creative Original Video
  • Creative Original Audio
  • Documentary

Teams:
A Media Quest submission (audio and video) can have a Team of 1 to 6 individuals. For teams of two or more, the student captain or a program staff must list all participants’ names on the online submission form.

Final Submission for Judging
Your Program Contact elects up to three submissions (total) from your program to be judged nationally, and submits the program's top three through www.etrio.org.
