TRIO Quest 2008 Entry Instructions

Register with the eTRIO Web site

NOTE: Students will not be allowed to register until a staff member from their program registers as a Program Contact.

Each TRIO program director should choose one staff member to be the Program Contact. The Program Contact is responsible for verifying the registration of students and staff. Please see the 2008 Step-by-Step Registration Guide.

Complete a TRIO Quest Activity

After approval, TRIO staff may view student PhotoEssays, and/or be added as a TRIO ThinkQuest coach.

TRIO students may register a TRIO ThinkQuest team, or upload a PhotoEssay and/or Media Quest entry. Please see the Step-by-step guide for Students Submitting a TRIO Quest Activity.

TRIO ThinkQuest:
A. Each Student and Coach registers for TRIO Quest (Step 1).
B. The Team Captain from each team creates the team. Go to the "My Activities" tab and click on "TRIO ThinkQuest". Click on the link to "Create a Team" and then fill out the Site Title, Site Description, and enter in the email addresses of each student and coach (excluding your own email address). Create and the team and click the link to "Submit" the team.
C. Teams work together to complete their Web sites using the resources within their TRIO programs and the TRIO Virtual Center. Please read all of the Rules, including the Fair Use Rules.
D. Teams upload to the TRIO Quest servers. See our pages on WebDAV for PC and WebDAV for Mac.
E. The team captain submits the site (see Step 3 below).

MediaQuest:
A. Each Student and staff member registers for TRIO Quest (Step 1).
B. Students complete an entry using the resources within their TRIO programs and the TRIO Virtual Center. Please read all of the Rules, including the Fair Use Rules.
C. Students upload the MediaQuest entry. Go to the "My Activities" tab and select "MediaQuest". Fill out the short online form and upload the Media Quest entry.
D. The program contact selects the Top 3 Media Quest entries for submission to TRIO Quest (see Step 3 below).

PhotoEssay:
A. Each Student and staff member registers for TRIO Quest (Step 1).
B. Students complete a PhotoEssay entry using the resources within their TRIO programs and the TRIO Virtual Center. Please read all of the Rules, including the Fair Use Rules and Judging Rubric.
C. Students upload one or more PhotoEssays. Go to the "My Activities" tab and select "PhotoEssay." Fill out the short online form and upload the Word .doc or PDF .pdf file.
D. The program contact selects the Top 3 photoessays for submission to TRIO Quest (see Step 3 below).

Program Contacts submit the Top 3 photoessays entries by the August 8, 2008 deadline: Go to the “My Program” tab and click on name of your program. Go to the "PhotoEssay" tab. Check the box under the "Top 3 PhotoEssay" column for each of your program's top 3 photoessays and then click the "Submit" button. TRIO ThinkQuest Team Captains submit the team by the August 1, 2008 deadline: When the site is complete and ready for judging, team captains go to the "My Activities" tab and click on "TRIO ThinkQuest." Under the "Site Status" column, click on "Submit" to submit your team. TRIO ThinkQuest Coaches may also submit the team to the ThinkQuest International competition starting August 15, 2008 through the Oracle ThinkQuest website at http://www.thinkquest.org/.

Program Contacts submit the Top 3 Media Quest entries by the August 8, 2008 deadline: Media Quest entries are submitted online (see Step 3). Program contacts go to the “My Program” tab and click on name of your program. Go to the "Media Quest " tab. Check the box under the "Top 3 Media Quest " column for each of your program's top 3 entries and then click the "Submit" button.
