TRIO Quest 2008 Registration Guide
Step-by-Step Guide for Program, Staff, & Student Registration
1. Your program chooses a “Program Contact” to register your program and to manage members (staff and students) and TRIO Quest activities.

New for 2008: Program Contacts from last year (2007) do not need to re-register. Use your full email address and the password you chose last year to log into the 2008 portal.
New Program Contacts Only: Follow steps a-w below.
Returning Program Contacts: Skip ahead to steps q-w below.
a. Go to http://www.etrio.org/
b. Select “TRIO Staff Register Here”
c. Enter Applicant Information and Submit (NOTE: use an email address that is real – you will need to use it to verify your user and program application.)
d. NOTE: You now have Level 1 access and can see the eTRIO Resource page. In the future, go to http://resource.etrio.org/ and login using your full email address and password to utilize these resources.
e. You now need to register your program. Go (once again) to http://www.etrio.org/
f. Login using your full email and password
g. Select “Staff Registration (Level 2)” – this will allow you to participate in TQ activities
h. Enter the additional information and submit (NOTE: address, zip, and phone are not required but it is very helpful if we need to contact you).
i. Go to your email and click the link within a message from admin@triothinkquest.org in order to verify and complete your registration (NOTE: This message may appear in your "Junk" folder).
j. Once you click the link within the email, you will be directed back to the etrio web site so you can register your program

* Submission of the Program Registration forms indicates the program's acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of participation.
k. Login to www.etrio.org using your full email and password
l. Select “My Roles”
m. Select “Register a Program”
n. Enter the limited information needed and Submit
o. Read Confirmation which lets you know that once your program application has been reviewed and approved, your status as Program Contact is established. In addition, once your program has been approved, other staff and students can register.
p. Complete steps above (k-o) as many times as needed for multiple programs
Program Contact – To Approve and Manage members - VIEW DEMO
New and Returning Program Contacts:
q. Login to http://www.etrio.org/ using your full email and password
r. Select “My Program”
s. Select the program name (a link under “Program”)
t. You will see “Current Program Members” and whether or not they are “Approved” or “Pending” (NOTE: “Pending means you need to approve or deny them as a member) New for 2008: Students that registered last year will be listed as "Pending." Approve your "Pending" students that will participate in 2008.
u. To Approve or Deny, Select “Manage Members” and click either Approve or Deny. (NOTE: if you do not know the person who has registered to be a member, deny them. This is to protect your program and TQ activities from scams and program corruption.)
Program Contact – To Manage or View who is participating in TQ Activities
v. Login to http://www.etrio.org/ using your full email and password
w. Select “My Program”, select the name of your program, select the name of the activity (ThinkQuest, PhotoEssay, or MediaQuest)
x. Within each activity you can see the names of the teams and/or individuals who are participating.
After the Program Contact Registers the Program, Students and Staff can register.
2. Student Registration - VIEW DEMO
New for 2008: Students from last year (2007) do not need to re-register.
Use your full email address and the password you chose last year to log into the 2008 portal. Your program contact will need to re-approve you for 2008.
New Students Only:
a. Go to http://www.etrio.org/
b. Select “TRIO Students Register Here”
c. Fill in the application (NOTE: use an email address that is real – you will need to use it to verify you are user and you will use it as a login in the future. BE SURE to memorize your email and your password.)
d. Submit your application and click OK
e. You will see a page that tells you your registration has been saved and to go to your email to verify your account by clicking a link. (NOTE: This message may appear in your "Junk" folder).
f. Once you have been approved add a role as a student with your program.1. login with your full email and password at http://www.etrio.org/
2. Select “My Roles”
3. Select “Add a Role” and choose the name of your program from the drop-down box (NOTE: be careful to choose the right program)g. Now, you must wait until the Program Contact from your program approves your submission
3. Staff Registration - VIEW DEMO
New Staff Only:
a. Go to http://www.etrio.org/
b. Select “TRIO Staff Register Here”
c. Fill in the application and Submit1. This application gives you Level 1 access to University of Washington TRIO Training resources
2. Once you submit your application the eTRIO Resources screen will appear to give you access to “University of Washington TRIO Training Resources”. Here you will be able to blog, create content, join forums, vote in polls, etc. You can also view the latest news from the Department of Education.d. If you want to participate in TRIO Quest activities, you need to register for Level 2 access
1. Open a new browser with http://www.etrio.org/
2. Login using your full email and password that you used for Level 1 registration
3. Select “Staff Registration (Level 2)”
4. Fill in the additional application requirements and Submite. You will see a page that tells you that your registration has been saved and to go to your email to verify your account by clicking a link in the email. (NOTE: This message may appear in your "Junk" folder).
f. Once you have been approved add a role as a staff with your program.1. login with your full email and password at http://www.etrio.org/
2. Select “My Roles”
3. Select “Add a Role” and choose the name of your program from the drop-down box (NOTE: be careful to choose the right program)g. Now, you must wait until the Program Contact from your program approves your submission.
