Overview of the La Jolla, CA Trainings

TRIO staff may select one or both trainings. Priority 3 topics are a logical introduction for many staff to the topics in Priority 1.

A Technology/Resource Fair is offered at the same time on Wednesday for both trainings.

Priority 3, January 8 – 10, 2007

Topics: student needs assessment, graduation and retention strategies, and educational technology
Begins: 8:00 AM, Monday January 8, 2007
Concludes: 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Sessions include:

• Sessions on each topic of Priority 3
• Practicum: Experience applying one topic to TRIO
• Technology/Resource Fair
• Sessions by type of TRIO Program
• Hands-on labs
• Sessions for New Staff (less than two years in TRIO)

Priority 1, January 10 – 12, 2007

Topics: record keeping, APRs, and program evaluation
Begins: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2007
Concludes: 1:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2007

• Sessions on each topic of Priority 1
• Updated information from the Department of Education on APRs
• Practicum: Experience applying one topic to TRIO
• Technology/Resource Fair
• Sessions by type of TRIO Program
• Hands-on labs
• Sessions for New Staff (less than two years in TRIO)
