  • Federal Authority and Department Requirements for the APR, record keeping and evaluation
  • Record keeping, APR and program evaluation issues and solutions for student services, student performance, demographic data
  • Responses provided by the Department to questions received during the last two months

Monday

 

2:30 – 3:45

New SSS APR

Concurrent Session:

Learn the most recent information on the new SSS APR.  Receive info from the Department of Education sent via the UW training team.  This information includes copies of presentations by Department staff as well as their responses to questions.  Learn to participate via the UW TRIO Training Website in follow-up online dialogue and receive answers online to many questions that arise later about this new APR.

Data Wizards: Supporting program data collection and reporting

Data Wizards are FREE tools created by the UW Training team.  They support all TRIO program’s record keeping, APRs, evaluation, and other activities.  They require no special software.  See a demo of one and then practice using it and other tools.  An Open Lab time follows.

2) Pitfalls of the APRs

1) Online Resources including TRIO Quest
Learn the free resources and how to use them.  These include short courses, tutorials, podcasts, blogs, files available for download, and student-centered TRIO Quest activities.


2) Pitfalls of the APR
Receive lists of common errors and misinterpretations of procedures in the submission and content of APRs.  This information is prepared from input from the Department and others.  Information is for all types of TRIO programs.

Technology Tools for Record Keeping, APRs, and Evaluation

Concurrent Session:

Learn new affordable technology tools and efficient methods for data collection and analysis.  Information on software and hardware as well as tips on best practices are provided.

2:15 – 3:20

Model Program Evaluation Planning

Concurrent Session:

Evaluation is required of all TRIO programs.  Learn what is essential for evaluation for each type of TRIO program and see how to use a simple tool to draft an evaluation plan.

3:20 – 3:35

Final documentation of training and evaluation.
