The TRIO OWL provides writing tutorials to
TRIO students who are participating in
TRIO ThinkQuest and
PhotoEssay.
The TRIO OWL emphasizes increased skills in:
- Picking Topics
- Understanding Audience and Purpose
- Outlining Information for Prewriting Purposes
- Organizing Information through Introduction/Thesis, Paragraph, Topic Sentence, and Transition Development
- Improving Grammar and Mechanics
- Summarizing and/or Synthesizing Information for Research
- Understanding Writing Style (e.g. writing for the web, etc.)
- Complying with Fair Use, Plagiarism, and Citation Rules.
