Teen Brings Tractor Safety to her Farm Community

A serious power take-off (PTO) entanglement on February 18, 2007, has not side-railed this awesome high school junior. Instead, she is inspired to bring the tractor safety message to her community.

With personal family experiences, her strong can-do spirit, and the clothes she wore that day (see photo right), she delivers a dynamite speech at 4-H and FFA Speech Competitions and to youth groups throughout the State of Iowa.

She continues life in high spirits, active in FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, school, and her family's cow-calf farm, while facing multiple surgeries and ongoing rehabilitation for her arm. You can read Kristi's own words about what happened that day and her compelling competition speech.
