On October 14, 2010 the community joined us for an open-house at our South Lake Union campus. UW Medicine scientists discussed the latest research on cancer vaccines and provided updates on research projects taking place right here in Seattle.
Lab tours included stations showing details about our clinical trials work; research techniques and equipment that help us identify human tumor antigens (molecules recognized by the body's immune system); a first-hand chance to see "Big Momma" (our large, yet precious, specimen storage); and tissue culture rooms which are dedicated to cellular experimentation.
Formal presentation by Dr. Mary L. (Nora) Disis and various members of the TVG Clinical and Research Teams.
