| Our lab is a lab of "translational research." This means under one roof we move from the lab bench to the bed side. Translation of the exciting novel findings made in fundamental laboratories into testable hypotheses for evaluation in clinical trials is the aim of translational research in oncology.
By its nature, translational research crosses boundaries between basic science and clinical application. It places researchers in new contexts and ushers in a range of new contacts and relationships. Crossing these boundaries contributes directly to the creativity and social impact of translational medicine. The Tumor Vaccine Group has the infrastructure to bring the investigators involved in "translational research" together to generate novel approaches to cancer treatment. We accelerate the testing of potential benefits to people derived from scientific discovery. The need for an organized structure devoted to this particular integrative research orientation has been widely recognized throughout the North American cancer research community. Please look around and discover... |
