A one-hour special, Cancer Breakthroughs Head to Toe, will air this Friday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. and will be hosted by KING-5 news anchor and health reporter Jean Enerson. It will feature interviews with the following UW physicians:

| Congratulations are in order for Lupe. She has accepted the position as Medical Director for the ITHS Clinical Research Center at UWMC, replacing the role previously held by Dr. Nora Disis. TVG is excited for Lupe and looks forward to supporting her in this new position. | |

| July 27, 2008 TVG ventured out on a misty morning to participate in the 5K marathon fundraiser for the Marsha Rivkin Center. TVG members both walked and ran in addition to their booth with information about TVG research. They all had a great time supporting a wonderful cause. | ||

Dr. Lupe Salazar talks with UW Rowing Crew |

| On May 22, 2008 Dr. Lupe Salazar visited the UW Rowing Crew’s facilities near Husky Stadium. Dr. Salazar enjoyed an afternoon meeting with the Michael Callahan, Head Men’s Rowing Coach, and the Men’s and Women’s crew members to discuss Cancer Immunotherapy and the process of research at TVG. At the 2008 Windermere Cup the UW Men’s Rowing Crew supported Breast Cancer awareness by changing the W on their jersey’s from the Husky purple to pink and having breast cancer decals on the boat and oars. The team was very receptive to Dr. Salazar’s presentation and presented her with a signed pink W jersey and poster of the team. |
