Have you ever thought about how a computer works? What inside the computer makes you see the words, pictures, and shapes? Well if you break it down to what all these things come from you have a sequences of code numbers called binary code. Computers use binary code because it is the simplest number system. Binary code is made up of ones and zeros, which are put in a sequence of coded numbers. These code signals for letter, decimal number, color, screen positions, and so on flash to the various components. These signals are made up of binary code.

Binary Numbers

This table shows how Binary Numbers relate to decimal numbers. The ones and zeros indicate if the number contains any ones, twos, fours, or eights. An example of this is 1 times 8 plus 0 times 4 plus 0 times 2 plus 1 times 1 equals 9. With this method you can put any decimal number into a code.
