Current Projects
My classes in Upward Bound consist of lecture, discussion lab, Math, Dance, Technology, and Language Arts. My first period like everybody else is Lecture. We talk about cultures, genes, and a lot more confusing topics. I have discussion lab next. We discuss the lecture for that day, answer any questions, and journal writing. I also have Math. We mostly do word problems which deals with pre-calculus. I have gone through all the things we're doing now, so I'm just kind of kicking back. Fourth period, I have dance. That's my favorite class among the rest, because I enjoy dancing and watching others try it. Next, I have technology which I find very interesting. We use computers for research. Finally, I have Language Arts. We usually write journals about the lecture that morning, and we also learn techniques on how to improve our writings.

My favorite WWW site so far is Ruel's Pinoy Web Page which is located at http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/3369/pinoy.html. On this address, I found a lot of things about the Philippines' current events like entertainment, music, movies, etc. It's pretty interesting to browse around and see what you can find.
Biography
My name is Leah Verzosa and I'm an in coming senior. This would be my last summer in Upward Bound. I was born in the Philippines and came here five years ago. I would like to take Physical Therapy in college, hopefully in the University of Washington. I have a job at the Omnidome Theater as a cashier and host. I have been working there for about six months now. I like it, because It's direct contact with customers and the pay is good. Someday, I would like to have a family of my own.
Dancing is one of the things I enjoy doing. My friends make up some steps and perform them at school. It is usually hip hop. I have also taken dance classes during the summer time in Upward Bound for two years. Everybody in this program should try it. I think it's a great experience because it builds up your self-esteem and self-confidence. I almost requested to take out my dance class my first year, because I hate performing, but I love it now…..the dancing part, but I still get butterflies whenever I have to perform.
My Interests / Hobbies
My hobbies include singing, dancing, shopping, movies, and reading
mysteries. I would like to be a physical therapist when I go to college at the University of Washington.
