My name is Michael Lieu and right now I am working on my Biography. All the classes in the Upward Bound program are pretty well taught; at least a lot better than that at our high schools. The classes that this program gives me are lecture hall, language arts, discussion lab, scholar's bowl, math and technology. So far my best and favorite class is the scholar's bowl class which I am doing real good in. The scholars bowl class is kind of like playing jeopardy. I have been selected to go to Idaho to compete in the scholar's bowl competition.

My favorite web site is ESPNet sportszone http://espnet.sportszone.com/. It tells about what's going on in the sports world and I can find the results of the 1996 NBA draft on it. I can also keep up scores on the Mariners and what's going down with my hometown team.
Biography
My family and I came to Seattle in 1983. We were refugee's during the Vietnam war. We are of Chinese ancestry but for some reason our family ended up in Vietnam. When we came to the U.S we did not speak a word of English and we were penny less. We survived the first year in America with the help of a church and a couple of very nice people. Being adapted to a way of life in Vietnam my parents found the transition from Vietnam to America very difficult. While in Vietnam my parents were pretty well off until the war. Finding a job was easy for both my parents being extremely talented, especially with people, they know well. Because of the Vietnam war our family was forced to move from country to country because refugee's are not welcomed in any country.

I put this classical piece of Beethoven because I enjoy playing and listening to his music. Works of Chopin are also very enjoyable. Since I am sixteen and driving, I like going out and I am going to be a junior next year. I was also class president of my class in during my sophomore year. I was not born in China nor were my parents, my parents were born and raised in Vietnam. My parents think that our forefather migrated to Vietnam a long time ago; that's why we have Chinese lingo in our family.
Interests/ Hobbies
My favorite hobby is building things and it doesn't matter what it is; I just like building anything. I had a set of model cars that I built and painted. The only other thing that I like to do is to listen to music and I am open minded to most music.
