Current Projects

Despite the changes that occur every year in Upward Bound, I still manage to stick with the program. I only had a four day weekend to get an idea of what my summer vacation would be like, then the following day of June 23rd , it was back to school already. I have six classes that begin and end with a lecture or discussion class. The other classes are regular Math, Language Arts, Technology, and Scholars Bowl. Well, in my lecture class there are over 60 students with just one professor. It's like being in a college class where you have to do the thinking and give the answers. I really like my lecture and discussion class, but the topics are boring. How the human race was made up is what we emphasize each day. We are supposed to learn to take good notes and exercise the mind.

Favorite WWW site so far

So far my interests are in entertainment and whenever I want to browse on the web I type in this address: http://www.mc.kinley.com/pick.cgi?w=k. This site is on Entertainment & Pop Culture, and this is where I can search for academy award nominees, movie hunts, favorite actors or actresses, and a lot of Hollywood Pictures. I like to research what my actors do on their free time and what their personal interests and beliefs, etc. are. So whenever I am not busy, I jump onto Netscape and fine entertainment. Also I like to search for information on Planet Hollywood.

Biography

This flag reminds me a lot of my origin. It also gives me recognition of most of my pride. I always look at this and say, “To have pride in your country is to love your life there.”

On the 14th of August 1979, I was brought into this world and was placed in a big silver circular pan. The reason was because I was delivered naturally (meaning inside my home) in the Philippines by an old and wise lady and neighbor. I first experienced a little bit of childhood in Lobo Batangas, the hometown that my family stayed at. My neighbors would always bring me along with them just to wander the town side, rivers, and forest-like villages. One of those times, during an event where we were crossing the middle of a river, I accidentally slipped in. At this moment I thought of death. I felt like I was going to drown, but I didn't, and later as time went on, I felt trauma around any body of water.

Seven years later I had to start a new life because I moved here to Seattle on April of 1987 with my mom, dad, sister Fleda, and my only brother left, Robert. We were given petition by my Uncle Danny so that our lives could be cleaner, better and safer. Now in 1996 I am almost seventeen with a 95 driver's license which I never thought of getting; If I was back at home I would only be driving a water buffalo in a rice field. Now I have my goals set for education.

Interests/Hobbies

Taking my friends out to movies, lakes, inner city and outside are some of my interests. I like some remote locations because I have a passion behind the wheel. I make it my hobby to be the full time driver. My other interests are browsing on the world wide web, dancing with friends and lounging at a barbecue.

I have included a beautiful mini-picture of Seattle because it is the home that I am most fond of in coming to America.”
