Dance 2

This sixth period class started off almost silent for the first two days. The students quickly moved past their intimidation and shyness however, and began to explore new things and support each others attempts, successes and failures.

 

 

The main goal of the class was to introduce movement as something people used to communicate in their everyday lives. They used yoga and mediation and working in increasingly large groups to explore physical communication and effective cooperation.

 

The students were most interested in the many styles of music and forms of dance that the class explored. They also enjoyed the partner dances and liked exploring the yoga techniques for stress management.

 

Heather enjoyed the students readiness to volunteer their viewpoints. She also appreciated the outspoken innovative actions they took toward one another and her in determining the direction that the class and it's final performances took.
