THE STUDY OF
Deviance & Human Behavior
Sharon Primm-Dayot
In particular, this class will focus on the norms, values, beliefs, and conflicts in the lives of teenagers in 1999. The class will also focus on several concepts of deviance and the application of these concepts to contemporary issues in their lives.
Students will produce a portfolio of notes, research, and four written essays (including a first draft and a second draft for each essay) about the various concepts of deviance.
In connection to this year's lecture class on African Music and Performances, the students will compile their own "visual" performance in the form of a collage, as well as, create a symbolic poem. As "performance" is a symbolic representation of African culture, these students' performances are also symbolic of American teenage culture in 1999.

Working hard there aren't we?
