Thoughts On Upward Bound

What is it like being around high school students vs. college students?

High school students complain a lot about what is required of them, where college students accept it.

How did you get involved in Upward Bound and why?

Many UB instructors were customers at the coffee shop I worked at in college, they knew I wanted to be a Math teacher so they encouraged me to apply for the position of Math T.A.

What is your fondest memory in Upward Bound so far?

Scholar's Bowl trip to Idaho a few years back.

How do you motivate yourself at work?

Good attitude and prayer.

Besides working for UB, what are some of your hobbies?

Church, bridge (card game), reading, soccer, tennis, and water-skiing.

If you were an Upward Bound student, how helpful would it have been for your college career?

I would have challenged myself and perhaps I would have been accepted to some of the California schools I applied to.
