Thoughts On Upward Bound

What is it like being around high school students vs. college students?

High school makes me feel very nostalgic about "when I was your age." HS students crack me up with all their energy and spunk. Being around HS students makes me feel real old! When I'm with my college peers, I feel relaxed and not so old.

How did you get involved in Upward Bound and why?

Let's say I was at the right place at the right time.

What is your fondest memory in Upward Bound so far?

Getting lost at the Asian Art Museum with Chan while listening to the Audio tour.

How do you motivate yourself at work?

I play with my Pokemon, Pikachu.:) Just kidding...I drink lots of water and eat. It keeps me going.

Besides working for UB, what are some of your hobbies?

I'm a volunteer staff member for the Seattle Schools All-City Marching Band. I enjoy reading, window shopping (I'd go shopping but I'm a poor college student!), walking, and spending time with my closest friends.

If you were an Upward Bound student, how helpful would it have been for your college career?

Oh my gosh! If I were an Upward Bound student, I would've gotten study habits that are very useful during  college. Plus... being exposed to a college setting at a young age would motivate me more to attend college and make college a REALITY!!
