Thoughts On Upward Bound

 

What is it like being around high school students vs. college students?

Ah...it is a challenge to remember who I am and was when I was younger and be aware of what high school vs. college warranted. Sometimes it's refreshing and other times it's a strain to transgress all of my wisdom to your uniform spirit.

How did you get involved in Upward Bound and why?

I don't know... no really, I came to the program by word of mouth.  My reason for getting involved is that I love your youth and glow.

What is your fondest memory in Upward Bound so far?

The dance this summer at PLU to see this young nation blend and just be.

How do you motivate yourself at work?

Through your spirit and energy  I strive to keep up.

Besides working for UB, what are some of your hobbies?

I love to play chess, and print, read, and sit quietly and listen to the waves beat on the shoreline.

If you were an Upward Bound student, how helpful would it have been for your college career?

The head start would have put me into a more brave, and focused light, I think.
