Paige Etter and Amy Huang are both teaching assistants. It is their 1st year teaching as assistants in math at Upward Bound. Teaching at Upward Bound gives both of them the opportunity to get closer to students that have an ambition in life. Their time and dedication to the students is not just assisting the math teachers but also sharing the lifestyle of a college student for the students at Upward Bound. Both commented, "All the students have chosen to be here, so despite the whining you know they have ambition." And that is why they like teaching at Upward Bound. So as you can see, they have a hunger for helping students reach academic goals. |

uan is a serious man
who is serious about teaching. With an out-going personality, this man
is strict with a self-learning based style. He teaches logical
reasoning with an emphasis on geometry and conceptual learning about
trigonometry and other related aspects. Although he just recently
started teaching Tuan's personal interest in math clearly demonstrates
how much of an impact it has on his life. "Life is a
problem," he says, "through real learning is where we find
conceptual understanding."
aren Wilson is a serious teacher. Even though she means
math business, she has a little sense of humor. Teaching geometry for
the first time at Upward Bound, seems to be an interesting job for her.
She said, "It's significant for me to teach at Upward Bound
because I get to be with a fantastic diverse student population."
With a nice attitude and a little humor, she is a fun teacher. If you
don't think she isn't fun then try her class.
