In the lecture section, students will have a chance to learn about hazards caused by the natural environment. They will learn about the possible risks from each hazards and ways to avoid or minimize their exposure to these risks.
The lecture will first focus on astronomical hazards such as asteroids, comets, and meteors. The next topic will be geological hazards, which will focus on volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunami, and landslides. The third topic will be about meteorological hazards, where students will examine thunderstorms, tornados, hurricanes, temperature extremes, fire, floods, and drought. The last topic that will be discussed is biological hazards like disease and environmental contamination.
