Biological Hazards
Instructor: Sudershan Singh

Biological Hazards provides a rigorous introduction to infectious diseases and their affects on both the individual and greater society. We will discuss topics that range from fundamental cell biology, the immune system, population, biology, and ecology. The format of the course is short inquiry- based labs. Resources that will be used to illustrate these topics have been provided by the University of Washington. Some of these resources includes a light microsocpe, AIDS videos, and a variety of lab equipment.

In addition to labs this course will provide review of lecture material that has been covered in other science classes. Each day, the students and the instructor discuss lecture material from their other science classes. The focus will be on solidifying learning tools such as note taking, reviewing, and exam prep.
