1. What is your favorite quote? What is your interpretation for this quote? The Latin phrase, "Sunt lacrimae rerum, et minted mortalia tangunt", which means "Reality is marked by tears, and mortal things touch the human mind", is my favorite quote. This is from the Roman poet, Virgil, and in a quiet way it reminds me that struggles are part of life, but they never overtake life.
2. What college, you are attending or have attended? What is best or worst about the college? I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane as an undergraduate. It offered a lot of good things, like a small learning and social environment where I made many wonderful friends and grew a lot. Gonzaga also had its drawbacks, such as a lack of funding that required me to get into a lot of debt to graduate! 3. What is your plan in the next 5 or 10 years from now? I hope to be teaching Latin full-time at the high school level in the future, hopefully keeping up my languages and knowledge of ancient history. 4. What do you think of Upward Bound students? Upward Bound students are sincere, serious, attentive, bright, and excited about life. It's exciting for me to be in the classroom with students like this! 5. If you got all the power in the whole world, what would you change about Upward Bound? Alternatively, if not. Then what would you change about the United State as a resident. If I could, I'd like to see a change in outlook for the United States in regards to tolerance and peaceful interaction with foreign ideas, histories, and peoples.
