TQT research is an LA class that meets in the morning and is taught by Donna. This course is designed to help students develop research, critical writing, thinking, analysis and presentation skills. Students will research topics, summarize sources and organize information. To finalize this process,students will compile their findings into a finished product for presentation. Other skills students will acquire involve navigating the University of Washington Library and article databases, and the basics of writing, revision, public speaking, MLA Citation and format. Students will also learn to manage academic workloads against deadlines. Class assignments include in-class exercises, free-writes, reading, research, group work, discussion, collaboration, leadership and the creation of an educational Web Site that will be submitted for a National Competition. Each student will complete 9 to 10 pages of research.
