The UB Bridge Program is a metaphor for the idea that we all need transitions –none of us can go from A to Z in one step. We learn through a gradual level of awareness and the transition from high school to college is a big one. Bridge is a transition pathway from college life.
Bridge also lets students carry the community of support they created in Upward Bound on the college level.  In Bridge students learn about the variety of skills needed to survive in college and find reflection in discussion and exercises designed to facilitate academic success.
Since students are simultaneously taking other university courses with Bridge, they are also able to plan study tactics together. Ultimately Bridge is a place for students to feel safe to ask any question and feel comfortable while acclimating to the challenge of university culture. Also these students are past seniors of Upward Bound and they are soon to be UW students.

UB Bridge students work ambitiously and are very devoted. To them, UB Bridge gives them more freedom and opprotunities to prepared them for college. What is also great about UB Bridge is the extra credits that they will get for college.
