My name is Chien L, I am a 16 year old Junior at Cleveland High
School. My family and I moved to America in 1978, at the time when we
arrived in America I was only three months old. My earliest childhood
memory was playing with my brothers in the hallway of the apartment we
lived in. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports and going out with my
friends. I work for my dad in Chinatown at his grocery store. I have
been working there for about 8
years now. Recently in the Upward Bound program my peers and I have been
working on a World Wide Web program. We will be creating our very own
page to represent the Upward Bound program in Washington.
Upward Bound is a program which helps students get ready for college. While in the program students attend a class in school and during the summer. During the regular school year the class prepared for the SAT Test. In the summer we attend 5 classes. Upward Bound has given me a chance to see how it feels like to attend college, and has helped me academiclly also.
The World Wide Web is a program where you can have your own page of interests and facts, you can even buy or sell products. This program is unique because it is fast, interesting, and also educational. With the help of this program we can be more creative at whatever we do, give interactive reports, and have up to date information within minutes.
I really think this is a great program because I like working with computers and we get to observe anything we like. Another interesting aspect of this program is the on-line feature which allows more than two people to write to each other on the computer screen.
In the future I hope to see more people get involved with the World Wide Web program, I think this program will be very helpful to teachers, students, and people who use computers to earn a living. One thing I would like this program to improve on is the amount of time it takes to connect with what you are looking for.
