Bumjoon Kang is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary PhD program in Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington. His general research interests include healthy neighborhood planning, quantifying the built environment, and GIS science. Bumjoon's PhD project is (1) to reconstruct subjects' everyday life with accelerometer and GPS data and (2) to investigate location-based physical activity.

Bumjoon worked at Urban Design Department in Seoul Development Institute. He holds a MSc & Eng and a BSc & Eng in Architecture from Seoul National University, and obtained a registered architect license in South Korea.
