Late summer can often feel quiet in the garden! Learn about some great garden plants that will help keep your interest through this time of year. In this walking tour, you will: review basic plant ID techniques and apply them in the field; and learn about 20 great plants for late summer interest and how to integrate them in your garden at home.
SUMMER CLASSES 2007Rizaniño “Riz” Reyes, UW Botanic Gardens Soest Gardener, will teach you about plants in the Soest Garden, their basic care, and how to grow them at home.
Celebrated authors Cole Burrell and Lucy Hardiman will lead this four-day intensive professional garden writing workshop “Nurturing the Written Word: Further Adventures in Creative Garden Writing”.
Bess Bronstein, arborist, horticulturist, and instructor, will guide this walking tour, teaching basic plant i.d. techniques and 20 great plants for late summer interest.
Instructor Kathy McKeehen will teach techniques to create a fully rendered botanical drawing, and for dealing with light and shadow on forms.
Wildlife biologist and watercolorist, Heather A. Wallis Murphy will teach this fast paced and fun class designed to capture the interest in both the science and the art of field observations.
Christina Pfeiffer, horticulturist, instructor, and author will cover practical approaches to understanding your own soil, and what to do to make it better.
Pre-registration required for all classes except:
