Urologic Oncology Fellowship

Overview

The University of Washington Department of Urology is seeking applicants for a fellowship in Urologic Oncology beginning July 1, 2006. This is a 1 year clinical fellowship. If the candidate desires further training, a research component as a subsequent year is also available. Certification with the Society of Urologic Oncology requires both a clinical and a research year. The University of Washington Department of Urology is one of the fellowship programs accredited by the Society of Urologic Oncology. The University of Washington School of Medicine is ranked in the top 10 nationally, and ranked second in NIH funding for research.

The Fellowship will provide advanced training in all aspects of Urologic Oncology in a clinically active academic environment. The trainee will obtain in-depth experience in the clinical and surgical management of all major urologic cancers. This will also involve significant experience in laparoscopic approaches and didactic exposure to G.U. medical and radiation oncology.

The Department is heavily involved in basic, translational and clinical research related to GU Oncology. The Fellow will benefit from training with multidisciplinary care providers GU Oncology center co-located with the Urology Clinic.

All candidates must be able to obtain an unrestricted Washington state medical license.
