Colm Morrissey, PhD
Research Assistant Professor
Department of Urology School of Medicine University of Washington
Dr. Morrissey is a researcher who specializes in prostate cancer with an emphasis on metastatic disease.
Education & Training
Dr. Morrissey received his Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology in
1999 from University College Dublin, Ireland. His research under Dr.
Martin Tenniswood at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center, Lake
Placid, NY focused on the prostate, anti-oxidants, and ageing. He
taught for a year at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN and
then took up a postdoctoral position focusing on phytoestrogens and
prostate cancer with Dr. Bill Watson at the Mater Misericordiae
University Hospital, in Dublin, Ireland. He came to the University of
Washington to do a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Robert Vessella on
prostate cancer bone metastasis.
