Rotations

Our program increased its resident compliment in 2003, when we were granted one extra resident every other year so that we take 3 residents every other year. The residents rotate through 5 different hospitals. For this unique situation, we have adopted 3 10-week and 2 11-week rotations, which offer an equitable distribution of clinical practice and education. Chief residents are situated traditionally at the University of Washington Medical Center, the Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Harborview Medical Center. Residents cooperate in the call schedules, cross-covering patients at the various hospitals with back-up coverage by the chief and senior residents.
