Flexibility is indicated by the range of shoulder motion. Six directions of motion are easily measured. In measuring flexibility, the shoulder can be helped to move using the other hand if the motion is painful or weak. The range of motion of the limited shoulder can be compared to that of the normal shoulder. Frozen shoulder and arthritis cause loss of flexibility.
