Planned Giving

Many planned gifts provide donors with creative and flexible strategies as part of their charitable and estate plans.  Some of these gifts provide donors with income and some can help donors reduce their taxes.Annually, about 25% of gifts from individuals to the UW are in the form of planned gifts.   Many planned gifts ultimately establish endowed funds supporting the school, college or program of interest to the donor. Our Planned Giving Options brochure gives potential donors an overview of types of planned gifts and the benefits of making one. Topical brochures providing more detailed information on a specific type of planned gift are also available. If you would like a copy of one of the aforementioned brochures, please email the Office for Planned Giving. Contact InformationAddress

Partnering with Planned Giving

The Office for Planned Giving supports Advancement efforts at the University of Washington by helping secure, steward and administer planned gifts for the benefit of the UW’s schools, colleges, campuses, and programs.

Staff in the Office for Planned Giving work directly with prospects and donors, and team up with other Advancement officers to ensure a donor’s philanthropic goals are realized in a way that is beneficial for both the donor and the benefiting unit.

Through Planned Giving’s liaison relationships, each unit has an assigned gift planner. While the liaison is the primary contact for the unit, any gift planner can be called upon to help with your donor or answer questions related to planned giving. Contact Planned Giving.

For more information regarding various types of planned gifts, please review the Planned Giving Toolkit.
