The Advanced Materials for Energy (AME) Institute promotes sustainable and scalable energy solutions for the Pacific Northwest and beyond.  Some of the most promising renewable energy technologies are enabled by incorporating nanostructured materials into devices for high-efficiency, low-cost energy conversion and storage.

 AME is focused on discovering, developing, and characterizing advanced materials-based solutions to meet global energy challenges.  We are supported by the University of Washington (UW) Colleges of Engineering and Arts and Sciences, and the Institute for Molecular Engineering and Sciences.
