The new romantic comedy THE WEDDING PLANNER will play this week with closed
captions for deaf and hard of hearing audiences AND with DVS descriptive
narration for patrons who are blind or visually impaired in theaters
equipped with Rear Window® Captioning and DVS® Theatrical. The film will
play with captions and descriptions from Friday January 26 to Thursday
February 1 at the General Cinema theaters listed below in Sherman Oaks, CA,
Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI and Seattle, WA.
The film will also play within the next few weeks in equipped theaters in
Clifton, NJ, Plymouth Meeting, PA, Boston, MA, Springfield, VA and Bay
Plaza/Bronx, NY. We will post additional messages regarding dates and
showtimes at that time. General Cinema has installed the access equipment in
medium-sized auditoriums which sometimes means they don't get the movie
during its opening week, but end up with a longer run of the film with
captions and descriptions. In theaters where the equipment is in the
largest auditorium, the movie sometimes only runs with closed captions and
descriptions for a single week. Unfortunately, THE WEDDING PLANNER is not
booked for Owings Mills, MD or Framingham, MA.
THE WEDDING PLANNER (PG13), from Sony Pictures Entertainment,
stars Jennifer Lopez as a wedding consultant
who accidentally falls in love with the groom (Matthew McConnaughey) whose
wedding she's planning. Oooops! That is NOT approved behavior in the
etiquette book! We think you'll enjoy this movie as much as we did. It's
a fun and funny night out at the movies!

Center, Descriptive Video Service and the CPB/WGBH National Center for
Accessible Media (a research and development facility) make up the Media
Access Group at public broadcaster WGBH/Boston. For more information, visit

*******Don't forget to ask for your captioning screen or descriptive
narration headset BEFORE going into the auditorium! The movie previews
are not captioned or described -- just the main feature. Also, there is
no extra cost for the use of the special equipment required, but the
number of pieces of the equipment is limited, so we recommend getting to
the theatre at least 30 minutes in advance to increase your chances for
getting one and for getting a ticket to that show.
To get your own private closed captioning, place the base of the captioning
screen in your cupholder, and then adjust the clear plastic screen so the
captions appear just over the bottom of the screen, or just under the screen
depending on your preference. It is best to sit in the middle rows on the
same side as the lighted datawall, which is on the rear wall of the theatre.
The headsets for blind audiences also work best in the middle seats.
