COURSE OVERVIEW: "Augmentative and Alternative Communication:

examining clinical issues of augumentative and alternative
communication (AAC) for children and adults. The course will
emphasize case studies and practical solutions in AAC. Both
high technology and other less complex communication
         strategies will be examined.

discussions with nationally-known experts, as well as with
other students throughout the world. All students start the
course at the same time and participate, through the use of
a Web discussion, in a stimulating exchange of
ideas. Students discuss and focus their assignments on specific
cases, going through a process which will be useful in their
           clinical work.

Students will also learn how to use some of the resources in
AAC and adaptive technology, available on the Internet and
World Wide Web, to stay current with developments in the
field after they complete the course.
