Upcoming Tour and Vendor Days
The Assistive Technology unit at the Department of Services for the Blind
hosts two Tour Days and two Vendor Days each year (one event per quarter).
Following
is our schedule for the year 2002.
Tour Days
February 13, 2002 and October 16, 2002 have been scheduled as Tour Days,
both of which will be held in the Seattle office. Both the Assistive
Technology
and Low Vision labs will be open to the public. Individual tours on Tour
Day are designed to expose the general public (those not in the VR program)
to
assistive technology equipment and low vision aids. Assessment reports will
not be provided to the individual or others at DSB.
Tours will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and scheduled on the hour.
The last tour of the day will be scheduled at 4 p.m.
Vendor Days
May 22, 2002 and August 14, 2002 have been scheduled as Vendor Days, with
the first event being held in Seattle and the second in Eastern Washington,
exact
location/facility to be announced later. Vendor Days are designed to give
an opportunity for assistive technology vendors to exhibit and demonstrate
the
latest and greatest equipment, and professionals, the general public and
others to experience a broad scope of assistive technology.
